    Sapugaskanda resumes on 26th

The Sapugaskanda Oil Refinery will resume operations on January 26, the Ministry of Energy said.

A consignment of crude oil is scheduled to arrive in Sri Lanka on the 23rd of this month, according to the Ministry of Energy.

Accordingly, steps will be taken to restart the Sapugaskanda refinery.

The Sapugaskanda Oil Refinery was temporarily closed on January 3 due to difficulties in purchasing crude oil due to the prevailing foreign exchange crisis in the country.

However, the Ministry of Energy assures that even if the Sapugaskanda refinery is temporarily closed, there will be no fuel shortage in the country.
