By now, more than 71% of the total population has been vaccinated against Covid, said the Chief Epidemiologist of the Ministry of Health, Dr. Samitha Ginige at a discussion held in Colombo today.
He said that all citizens over the age of 16 are being vaccinated against Covid and that the vaccination program has been very successful so far.
Samitha Ginige said that 22832 children with special needs have been vaccinated against Covid.
Samitha Ginige also said that discussions are underway to give a booster vaccine to all within a month of receiving the second dose of the Covid vaccine.
