The Government Medical Officers’ Association (GMOA) has requested the Epidemiology Unit to delegate the responsibility of the covid Epidemic to six expert committees as it has failed to manage the epidemic optimally.
Dr. Chenal Fernando, General Secretary of the Government Medical Officers’ Association (GMOA) said that a separate committee of doctors should be appointed to oversee the monitoring, epidemic control, vaccination, clinical treatment, research and monitoring and evaluations.
He also said that all the specialists attached to the Epidemiology Unit should be appointed to the six committees.
The Secretary also said that the Government Medical Officers’ Association had informed the President about this matter
