The heads of the Electricity Board have been summoned to the Parliamentary Committee on Public Enterprises (COPE) on the 21st.
Parliamentary sources said that there is also going to be a discussion on corruption and irregularities in the board.
After Rohitha Abeygunawardena was appointed as the Chairman of the COPE Committee, the first institution to be called before the Committee is the Electricity Board.
The Janatha Estate Development Board was supposed to be summoned before the Parliamentary Committee on Public Enterprises on the 22nd, but it has been cancelled.
In the meantime, the new chairman of the COPE committee is hoping to call and question the government institutions that the auditor general has pointed out that the corruption and fraud irregularities are strong.
In the meantime, the Speaker has decided to appoint a new member this week with the consent of the opposition to the position left vacant by the resignation of Mr. Iran Wickramaratne.
