A shooting has taken place near the Kahawaththa bridge in the Beliaththa police domain at around 8.30 this morning.
The shooting took place targeting five people who were traveling in a white Defender-type vehicle.
The shooting was done by a group of people who came from a green cab.
The death toll from this shooting has risen to 05.
It is said that Saman Perera, the leader of our Jana Bala Party, who was a presidential candidate, is also among them.
Saman Perera, who is said to be the owner of the Royal Beach Hotel in Ambalangoda, was notoriously known as Royal Beach Saman. He was accused of several murders and shootings and was arrested by the police.
