Bus fares have been raised to be effective from midnight tomorrow (02) (from 01:00 on 09/03/2023).
This decision was taken after a discussion between the bus owners’ associations and the authorities was held today at the National Transport Commission.
Accordingly, the first fee of Rs.30/- remains unchanged.
All other bus fares are set to increase by 4.01%.
The reason for this increase in bus fares is that the price of one liter of diesel has increased by Rs.35/- from Rs. 306 to Rs. 341 since midnight on the 31st.
The National Transport Commission says that the bus fare should increase by 4.01% when the price formula is adjusted to the National Bus Fare Policy.
The commission also informs that the bus fare will be revised by the above percentage in all other bus services.
Accordingly, the revised normal service bus fares are given below.
