Mr. Sajith Premadasa, the opposition leader, says that his party is ready for any election and should be given the electoral right that the people are asking for.
He alleged today (28) that a social and humanitarian tragedy has been created in the country and corruption and fraud in the health sector have increased due to the absence of a government.
The opposition leader said that people’s lives are being lost even in the ‘Aswasuma’ queue and the small and medium business has collapsed.
The opposition leader expressed these views at the opposition leader’s office in a discussion held with the teacher advisors.
Opposition Leader Mr. Sajith Premadasa also said:
“At a time when the people are burdened with debt, theft, fraud and corruption have come to the fore to the extent that there is no government. People’s lives have been affected due to the weak governance and postponing of elections by spoiling democratic rights.
If it is not possible to save the people from their misery in such a situation, they should go for a new mandate. The goals of the country can be achieved through a new national policy within that mandate.
Samagi Jana Balawegaya is ready for any election. Therefore, people should be given the right to vote. People’s sovereignty, and mandate are more important than anything else. If the government cannot recover the country, it should go for a mandate. The opposition leader said that the Samagi Jana Balawegaya is ready to go before the People’s Court.
