The resolution on the IMF agreement was passed by a majority vote

The resolution to implement the program under the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Extended Fund Facility (EFF) for Sri Lanka was passed today (April 28) by a majority of 95 votes in Parliament.

120 votes were received in favour of the resolution, and 25 were received against it.

President Wickremesinghe had previously mentioned that after the resolution on the implementation of the EFF program is passed in the parliament, the main points of the IMF agreement will be made into a law.

After a three-day debate from April 26 to today (28), MPs voted today on the proposal to implement the IMF-supported program.
