The highest number of arrests in a single day for violating quarantine laws has been made in the last 24 hours ending at 6.00 am today (17).
Police Media Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana stated that 1,561 persons have been arrested in the past 24 hours.
The highest number of arrests during this period were from Kuliyapitiya. That number is 228. In addition, 165 persons have been arrested from Kandy and 137 from Matale, DIG Ajith Rohana said.
