The captain of the Express Pearl, who was arrested today (14) in connection with the incident, has been released on a bond after being produced before the court.
The Captain was arrested by the CID and produced before the Colombo High Court.
He was released on a personal bond of Rs. 2 million.
The High Court also decided to extend the restraining order preventing the captain from traveling abroad.
The CID is conducting investigations into the burning of the Express Pearl ship in the sea near the Colombo harbor.
