    Wharf Officers on essential duty also request Essential Facilities

    The Ceylon Wharf Services Association requests the Minister of Finance to provide the necessary facilities to the wharf officers who have now considered as an essential service.

    The Sri Lanka Customs Department and the Sri Lanka Ports Authority (SLPA) have made the wharf service an essential service a liaison between importers. at the moment

    Day by day the wharf clerks seem to be in a danger situation due to Covid.

    Therefore, the Ceylon Wharf Services Association requests the Minister of Finance to provide the necessary facilities to the wharf workers.

    Ceylon Wharf Association President Mr. Pradeep Hettiarachchi has requested the Minister of Finance to prepare a system to reduce congestion near the windows in the submission of documents related to the import and export process, to inject Covid vaccines to the wharf officers and to remove the photographs of wharf workers displaying at the port through banners.
