The circular issued by the Ministry of Public Administration stating that government officials can wear comfortable clothes has been cancelled.
Accordingly, the Ministry of Public Administration cancelled the circulars related to the dress of government officials issued on June 26, 2019, and September 27, 2022, said Mr. M. N. P. K. Mayadunna of the Ministry of Public Administration.
The secretary also said that only the circular issued in the year 1989 regarding the uniform of officers of the staff ranks will continue to be valid.
Mr. Mayadunna also said that the circular issued by the Ministry of Public Administration in 1989 states that government staff officers can wear national dress, European dress with a tie, collared shirt and trousers.
