Moderna has filed a lawsuit in an American court accusing Pfizer of fraudulently using its technology in the production of its anti-coronavirus vaccine.
Accordingly, the Moderna company also accuses the Pfizer company and the German biotech company that worked with them of using the mRNA technology very meticulously and fraudulently that they improved and patented before the corona epidemic.
“We are filing these lawsuits to protect the new mRNA technologies we pioneered, invested billions of dollars in, and patented since nearly a decade ago before the coronavirus pandemic,” Moderna CEO Stéphane Bancel said in a news release.
However, the Moderna company has emphasized that they do not expect to undermine the anti-coronavirus vaccinations that are being carried out worldwide by filing this lawsuit.
In this regard, the spokeswoman of Pfizer company has stated that the company has not yet reviewed the related complaint.
“The anti-corona vaccine was developed based on the biotech company’s proprietary mRNA technology and we are surprised by the filing of this lawsuit.” The spokeswoman further stated.
