A committee has been appointed to evaluate the companies registered for import, distribution and marketing of petroleum products.
The Minister of Power and Energy Kanchana Wijesekera mentioned that the committee was appointed yesterday (05).
Recently, the Cabinet approved the opening of fuel import and retail markets to companies from petroleum producing countries.
Accordingly, long-term agreements are made with oil companies that are selected following a formal method and the companies concerned with fuel import, distribution and sales are given the opportunity.
