Another shooting in Modara – A drug dealer was killed

A man was shot dead on Modara Aluth Mawatha in Colombo this evening by a group who came in a three-wheeler.

Police say that a person who was engaged in drug trafficking called Vinodhan has been killed.

The suspect in the murder was identified as Cut Rizwan, a drug dealer in the same area. It is said that this person runs a large-scale drug trade. A senior police official said that it appears that the victim had taken drugs from other drug traffickers and sold them to buyers without taking drugs from him.

However, since the shootings and killings in the last few days have been carried out targeting people who were spying for the police while engaging in drug trafficking, a deep investigation will be carried out on this crime as well, he said.

The officer further stated that the police have been receiving regular information regarding the drug trafficking of the murdered person and the highest number of information has been received through short telephone numbers.

The victim was a 22-year-old drug dealer.
