The United National Party (UNP) says they will celebrate International Labor Day with protesters at Galle Face ground this year.
Its General Secretary Palitha Range Bandara says that this decision was taken as this is an opportunity for all the people to unite around the common struggle of the people and not an opportunity to build an image as a political party.
Accordingly, the youth wing representing the United National Party is scheduled to celebrate May Day on May 01 along with the protesters at Galle Face ground, he said.
He added that the UNP leaders would not participate in the Gota Go Gama youth struggle as it is not a struggle reserved for a political party.
