The Sri Lanka Public Health Inspectors Association says that the quality of food items stored in refrigerators in shops has changed due to frequent power cuts.
Its chairman Upul Rohana urges the public to be careful when consuming frozen foods.
He further said that if there is a change in the color, smell and appearance of frozen food, ysage of such items should be avoided as it is unfit for human consumption.
Mr. Rohana further stated that legal action has been taken against 387 shops selling meat and dairy products unsuitable for human consumption.
