The private sector will be allowed to import chemical fertilizers, herbicides and pesticides, Agriculture Minister Mahindananda Aluthgamage said.
The importation of chemical fertilizers to the private sector could commence from today, the Minister said.
The government has decided to remove the gazette notification issued on 26th April 2021 banning the import of chemical fertilizers and the minister confirmed it.
