Minister Basil Rajapaksa and former Director General of the Divineguma Development Department Kithsiri Ranawaka have been acquitted in a case related to the purchase of steel pipes during the 2015 Presidential Election using a sum of Rs. 365 lakhs belonging to the Divi Neguma Development Department.
This is due to the Attorney General withdrawing the charge sheets related to that case.
The order was issued by High Court Judge Namal Balalla when the case was taken up in the Colombo High Court today.
