The Department of Buddhist Affairs has issued a statement stating that the processions carrying the Katina Chiwara will not be allowed to continue this year due to the Covid-19 epidemic.
According to the Health Guidelines, with the participation of only a maximum of 20 devotees are allowed to perform the Katina Chiwara Pooja and the noon almsgiving.
The Department of Buddhist Affairs states that the Katinanisansa Dhamma Chanting at the end of the Pinkama should be conducted with the participation of only a maximum of 20 devotees.
