The 55th commemoration ceremony of the late D. A. Rajapaksa was held today (06) near the statue erected by him on the Tangalle-Mahawela road.
In place of the statue of Mr. D. A. Rajapaksa, which was demolished four months ago, a new statue was installed at the same place on the 3rd and today the 55th death commemoration ceremony was held on the same ground.
Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena, Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena, former Speaker Chamal Rajapaksa, former Minister Namal Rajapaksa and members of the Rajapaksa family and members of the D. A. Rajapaksa commemoration Committee joined the commemoration ceremony held with the participation of the fifth executive president and former Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa.
Sri Lanka is the only country where a statue is re erected from a political family who plundered and robbed our country .. we have the most foolish politically educated voters to appoint such people to power
