The 2020 Paralympic Games kicks off today (24th) in Tokyo, Japan.

2020 Paralympic Games will feature 540 events in 22 sports.
Accordingly, 09 Sri Lankan athletes representing Sri Lanka are scheduled to compete in the Olympics this year and left for Tokyo on the morning of the 20th.
The SL team will be captained by javelin thrower Dinesh Priyantha, who won a bronze medal at the last Rio Paralympic Games and will carry the Sri Lankan flag at the opening ceremony of the Tokyo Paralympics.
The sports festival which commences today will end on September 05.
