The Cabinet Sub-Committee appointed to resolve the salary issue of teachers and principals held its first meeting in Colombo this morning.
The Ministerial Sub-Committee appointed to resolve the issue of Teachers’-Principals’ Salary consists of four Ministers. The committee comprising Ministers Dullas Alahapperuma, Wimal Weerawansa, Mahinda Amaraweera and Prasanna Ranatunga met for the first time today at Wimal Weerawansa’s official residence in Colombo.
The committee has decided to meet with the teachers’ unions to discuss the action taken so far, including the issue of teachers’ and principals’ salary anomalies. Accordingly, the teachers ‘and principals’ unions will be convened separately next week to discuss the matter, said Minister Dullas Alahapperuma.
