Solution for LP Gas and Milk Powder to give in Next week

Minister Bandula Gunawardena says that he expects to reach an agreement with the Ministry of Finance within the next week regarding the problem faced by Laugfs Gas.

“The Ministry of Finance and the State Gas Company will implement a program next week. No need to buy a new Litro. We are trying to devise some methodology for Laugfs Gas Company, ”the Minister said.

Laugfs Gas Chairman KV Wegapitiya said the two companies had planned to import some of the gas in consultation with the government to address the current gas shortage.

It is reported that an agreement has been reached with the Central Bank to provide a certain amount of dollars through letters of credit.

Laugfs Gas Chairman K. V. Wegapitiya says that companies that trade in gas in any country do not refill gas cylinders from other companies.

The main reason for the shortage of gas is the unnatural increase in the price of gas in the world market during the last one and a half years and the inability to sell in Sri Lanka in comparison to the price of gas purchased.

Meanwhile, Milco has stated that it will produce the required amount of milk powder in the country as a solution to the shortage of milk powder in the market.

The chairman of the company Lasantha Wickramasinghe stated that the company produces sufficient quantity of milk powder.

The Minister of Trade Dr. Bandula Gunawardena stated that the government is not able to increase the prices of milk powder at present.
