The next month’s period is extremely critical and the government is preparing to give the public a third dose of Kovid, as in other countries, said Army Commander Shavendra Silva, head of the National Action Center for the Prevention of the spread of Covid-19.
He urged the people to strictly follow the health recommendations imposed by the government on the current situation and to get the vaccine as soon as possible if there are any people who have not been vaccinated against the Kovid virus.
As many countries have already started giving the third dose, the issue of giving the third dose in Sri Lanka has been discussed at the Presidential Task Force on Anti-Kovid held under the chairmanship of the President.
The Army Commander said that the President had instructed to prepare vaccination orders for the third dose for all the people as required.
93% of the people in the country have already been given the first dose and 23% have already been given the first and second doses.
Two million doses of Sinopharm vaccine were brought to Sri Lanka this morning (08).
