Reverend Galagodaatte Gnanasara Thero, who has been sentenced to four years imprisonment with hard labor, and requested to be released on bail has been rejected by the Colombo High Court.
Colombo High Court Judge Aditya Patabandige, who sentenced Gnanasara Thero, made that order.
Defendant Gnanasara Thero’s lawyers had submitted this bail request to the court, requesting that he be released on bail as he has filed an appeal against the current four-year prison sentence.
