Mrs Sri Lanka World says that the visa application of the Sri Lankan contestant who is going to participate in the Miss World 2023 pageant which will be held soon, has been unfairly rejected three times by the American Embassy in Sri Lanka.
Due to the rejection of the Sri Lankan contestant’s visa application, she has not been able to participate in this upcoming competition.
However, the agency has also emphasized that none of the contestants from Sri Lanka who participated in this competition had violated the visa rules obtained for that competition.
Two Sri Lankan contestants have brought this crown to Sri Lanka twice without any funding or support from the government amidst many difficulties.
Even though the crown was brought and then praised, a comforting environment for such difficulties has not been created so far.
Therefore, the institution is requesting the government authorities to pay attention to this.

Mrs.Sri Lanka World – Lost Talent to The World!
Mrs.World, one of the leading pageants for married females is hosted annually in the USA. This pageant was initiated during the year 1985. The first title holder of Mrs.World was our very own Mrs. Rosy Senanayake. Each year a nation wide competition is held in Sri Lanka and is hosted by the National Director of Mrs.World Sri Lanka – Chandimal Jayasinghe.
The franchise was taken over by Chandimal Jayasinghe from 2018 onwards, just one year later the proud title of Mrs.World was won by a Sri Lankan contestant after 35 years. Each year the challenge of obtaining the USA visa has been a major hurdle, each national winner of Mrs.World Sri Lanka that has visited USA for the pageant for the past 5 years has returned to Sri Lanka and has abided by thd the rules and regulations of the USA Visitor visa.
In Sri Lanka we tend to appreciate when a title is won by our contestants, however the true hardships of these contestants are only known by the National Director and the contestants, without any financial /non financial support from the government. Beauty pageants have been bringing pride and fame to Sri Lanka, and has put Sri Lanka on the map and created an impact on the making a positive perspection of our country.
In a Few days the Mrs.World 2023 beauty pageant would commence in USA and our contestant was denied of her visa multiple times despite providing the necessary documents. Its not an easy task to create a crown holder without any support from the government however National Directors and Sri Lankan beauty queens put much effort to bring the title back home. This is not for themselves alone but for the glory of the country. Our Mrs.World Sri Lanka 2023 was denied of that opportunity. These beauty queens that represent our country under the Mrs.World Sri Lanka title have always returned back to Sri Lanka, they have never over stayed or exploited the rights of the USA visitor visa.
Despite this setback from the US Department of State,

Finally, I would like to ask, “Are we denied to right to showcase our country’s talent on the international platform because of the state of our country? or why are we denied to even make a name for ourselves despite all the above…..! “
