Vijayakala is acquitted of the case of Controversial Statement on LTTE Revival

The Colombo Chief Magistrate’s Court has ordered the release of former state minister Vijayakala Maheswaran from the case against her.

The Attorney General had told to close the case as there was not enough evidence to continue the case against her.

The Chief Magistrate has made the order after considering the information provided by the investigating officers.

The case was heard against Mrs. Vijayakala Maheswaran when she was the minister in charge of children and women’s affairs, during a function held at Weerasinghe Hall in Jaffna, regarding a statement that the LTTE terrorist organization should be revived.
