“There have been close to 63,000 cases of dengue reported so far across the island. By the 12th of this month, the number of patients for this month has reached almost 1,000.
The number of daily reported cases has seen a huge decline in recent times. The number of patients which was more than 300 patients per day has decreased to 100 per day.
It is a good trend. During the rains, there is an increase in the number of patients in some provinces of the island, especially the Western and Southern Provinces and the Central Provinces. There is a risk of the disease spreading with the rain.”
