09 passengers who were travelling in the bus have died so far after a passenger bus overturned on the Manampitiya Thotaleeya Bridge this evening.
A private bus running from Kaduruwela to Akkaraipattu met with this accident.
This bridge is unsafe and the accident happened while the bus ran through it.
Residents around the place of the accident and people who were travelling on the road are still engaged in rescuing the people in the bus that fell into the river.
