The Attorney General has informed the Supreme Court today (24) that the Criminal Investigation Department has started an investigation regarding Pastor Jerome Fernando’s statement about the Buddha vision.
This notice was given when a fundamental rights petition filed by Elle Gunawamsa Thero and others was called today.
This petition was filed demanding Pastor Jerome Fernando’s arrest and the law’s implementation.
The Criminal Investigation Department has started investigations against the concerned pastor under the Civil and Political Rights Convention Act and the Penal Code.
The Attorney General’s side informed the court that they have reported the matter to the Colombo Fort Magistrate Court.
