    The second group of Sri Lankans is also rescued from Sudan

    The second group of Sri Lankans staying in Sudan, where the conflict is escalating, has also been rescued.

    They were brought to the King Faisal Naval Base in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

    The Sri Lankan Embassy in Saudi Arabia said that this group included 6 Sri Lankans.

    The group has been received by the Acting Consul General of Sri Lanka in Jeddah.

    13 Sri Lankans who were staying there were brought to Jeddah recently.

    The Embassy of Sri Lanka in Saudi Arabia says that the Saudi Arabian government supports the withdrawal of Sri Lankans staying in Sudan as requested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
