The Puttalam Child and Women Abuse Prevention Bureau has arrested the manager and his assistant after an investigation by the Puttalam Child and Women Abuse Prevention Bureau, paying special attention to many complaints regarding sexual harassment of employees working in the Puttalam office of an insurance company.
The Police Media Spokesman’s Office stated that two persons aged between 35 and 45 who are residents of Puttalam have been arrested.
Investigations have revealed that many female employees of this insurance company have been sexually assaulted by this manager and assistant. Investigations have also revealed that the employees were brought to the office room on the pretext of inspecting the files and asked them about various matters in the files, and sexually assaulted the employees.
In this regard, a senior police officer mentioned that investigations were started with special attention to several petitions submitted anonymously by the workers working in the insurance office, where three workers came forward to complain that the manager and his assistant had sexually harassed them.
Accordingly, the officers of the Child and Women Abuse Prevention Bureau arrested the insurance manager and his assistant and released them on a bail of Rs. 500,000 after presenting them to the Puttalam Magistrate’s Court yesterday (28).
