The Irrigation Department states that cultivation for this year’s Yala season will start from the 15th.
Director of the Water Management Division Mrs. Sudarshanni Vidanapathirana stated that the capacity of the reservoirs belonging to the Irrigation Department is at the level of 67.5%.
She also stated that 80% of the 800,000 acres of paddy fields cultivated in the Maha season are planned to be recultivated in this year’s Yala season.
