Officers of the Grandpass Police have arrested a police constable working in the Colombo Port Police who was pickpocketing the wallets and mobile phones of the passengers traveling in the buses.
This police constable, who was wearing civilian clothes, was caught by the hands of an army soldier who was traveling in a bus that was traveling from Colombo Fort to Kadawatha when he try to steal the wallet of the army soldier. After that, he handed over this constable to the police, and thus the policeman was arrested.
Investigations have revealed that this constable, who is addicted to drugs, has been pickpocketing for a long time. The police also say that on the 15th, he robbed a mobile phone of a woman who was traveling in a bus near Sugathadasa Stadium and fled.
