Save the three fishermen – Their relatives seek the help of Navy

The multi-day fishing vessel Chami along with six fishermen, which went to catch fish from the Galle fishing harbour, met in an accident in the sea about 200 miles away.

Three of the six fishermen who were on board when the vessel capsized were rescued by another fishing vessel while they were floating in the sea for almost two days.

However, it has been learned that the health condition of these three fishermen is not very good. Their relatives are urging the Navy to take necessary steps to bring them ashore as soon as possible for prompt medical treatment.

They need to be referred for medical treatment as soon as possible. It will take almost two more days to bring them home by the rescued vessel. A relative who spoke to Newswave said that the lives of the three could have been saved if they can take any action before that, and for that, it would require the urgent intervention of the Navy or the Air Force.

Chami Malli, a multi-day trawler belonging to a resident of Galle Magalla, sailed with six sailors on the 22nd. The Galle Harbor Police are hopeful that the multi-day fishing vessel carrying the fishermen who were in danger will arrive at the Galle harbour within a day.
