    An army chief’s son brought Kush from Spain and cultivated it inside a greenhouse

    A person who was arrested by the Special Task Force in Ruwaneliya Temple Road area, Nuwara Eliya, who was cultivating hybrid kush (cannabis) in a greenhouse.

    A preliminary investigation has revealed that he is the son of an army major.

    According to the orders and instructions of Special Task Force Commander Mr. Lawyer Varuna Jayasundara and according to the instructions of Kandy Zonal Commander Senior Superintendent of Police Mr. Ratthepitiya, under the supervision of Nuwara Eliya Divisional Commander Assistant Superintendent of Police Mr. W. C. A. S. De Silva, the Special Task Force of Meepilimana Camp, the Camp Commander, according to information received by Police Inspector G. U. Samarasinghe, the raid was carried out on the 15th by a group of officers including Police Inspector W. P. S. Wimalaweera.

    This cannabis cultivation had been carried out very meticulously in a greenhouse of a house as a vegetable cultivation.

    He has grown this hybrid Kush (cannabis) plants by importing seeds from Spain.

    It is said that 1 gram of this type of Cannabis (ganja) or kush is around 4000 rupees.

    The suspect is 27 years old.
