Change in the position of Prime Minister? – A response from the government

Urban Development and Housing Minister Prasanna Ranatunga, the chief organizer of the ruling party, said today (12) that there are no preparations to change the Prime Minister.

The minister also mentioned that the current Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena has confirmed through his activities that he is a mature politician.

Minister Prasanna Ranatunga said this while speaking to the media after participating in the inauguration ceremony of Mr. Tenuka Vidanagamage, who became the State Minister of Urban Development and Housing.

The minister mentioned that the state ministers were appointed according to the constitution and the state ministers get an MP’s salary and even the number of vehicles they get is very limited.

    1. Ministers in galore, rewards equally well. We have Ministers for everything. We have Minister for Highways, Minister for Roadways, yet to come Minister for by Lanes, similarly we have Minister for Higher Studies, Minister for Education, yet we need one for Montessori. MyLanka has gone crazy. At this hour of disaster unlimited what we need is a system change. We need a people friendly constitution, change of electoral system, where accountability, transparency, and meritocracy will prevail. From the day the Great JR introduced it, abuse began, He taught us how to kick out the Minister of Justice, how to hijack Bikkhu demo at Thummulla Junction, how to reward police office for breaking up of a demo by renowned politicians. The successors improved on the versions and the culmination was the coming of Goathabaya. Yet we are dancing with this constitution means we are mentally sick.
