30 murders in the underworld in last 3 months – 18 in the Western P. and 12 in the Southern P.

All the 30 underworld murders in the past three months have happened in the Western and Southern provinces.

18 of those murders took place in the Western Province, while only 12 took place in the Southern Province.

Out of the murders that have taken place in the Southern Province, except for one murder, the remaining 11 murders have taken place in the Galle district. 06 murders have also taken place in the Ambalangoda police domain.

The rest of the killings were split between Uragasmanhandiya, Ahangama and Rathgama Police domains.

The rest of the murders in the southern province took place in the Hambantota district. The shooter of the murder that happened in the Tangalle Moraketi area has also been arrested so far. Apart from that, the police solved one murder in Ambalangoda by arresting the killers along with the firearm and presenting them to the court.

Accordingly, the police have not been able to arrest the criminals in 10 of the 12 murders that took place in the southern province.

Almost half of the 18 murders that have taken place in the Western Province have taken place in the Colombo district. The suspect involved in the May 30 shooting at Bastian Mawatha was shot dead by the police in Bemmulla, Gampaha. Apart from that, none of the killers of these underworld shootings that took place in the Western Province have been arrested so far.

Of the 18 murders that have occurred in the Western Province, the remaining 09 murders have been reported as 07 murders in the Gampaha district and 02 murders in the Kalutara district.

In this wave of killings that took place in these two provinces, the only district where no underworld killings took place is the Matara district.
