Fuel supply dates according to the last number of the vehicle registration number/ license plate have been changed.
It will be operational from July 21 across the island.
The Minister of Power and Energy Mr. Kanchana Wijesekera said that the dates will be changed as follows when issuing fuel according to the last digit of the number plate.
0,1,2 – Tuesday and Saturday
3,4,5 – Thursday and Sunday
6,7,8,9 – Monday, Wednesday and Friday
The pilot project on distribution of fuel according to the number plate’s last digit for QR code quota will be tested at several locations in Colombo from 21st to 24th July.
The QR code fuel delivery program will be implemented islandwide from Monday, July 25.
As of 4 pm today, 2 million people have registered for the QR code. The minister says that the registration will continue.
Earlier, the ministry announced that filling stations will distribute fuel on Monday and Thursday for last digit 0, 1, 2, Tuesday and Friday for last digit 3, 4, 5, Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday for last digit 6, 7, 8, 9 according to the fuel quota.
