The driver of the three-wheeler has died when the three wheeler overturned and collided with a lorry at Pelwadi, Ratnapura.
The driver of the three-wheeler who died in the accident last evening is a Sub Inspector attached to the Pelmadulla Police Station. He is a 56 year old resident of Marapana, Ratnapura.
The accident had taken place on the Ratnapura road while returning home from Pelmadulla after completing his duties.
Investigations have revealed that the Sub Inspector who was driving the three-wheeler had lost control of the vehicle and overturned across the road.
The driver of the lorry has been arrested on suspicion in connection with the accident.
