    About 2000 people went for jobs in Korea this year

    The Sri Lanka Foreign Employment Bureau says that more than 2,000 Sri Lankans have left for Korean jobs in the four months since January.

    The bureau points out that 2,064 people have left for South Korean jobs in the last 4 months.

    Accordingly, 1708 people have gone to South Korea for jobs related to the manufacturing sector, 351 people for the fishing sector, and 5 people for the construction sector.

    It is reported that 1,892 of them have left for jobs in South Korea for the first time.

    During this period, 41 young women have also left for work in South Korea, the Sri Lankan Foreign Employment Bureau stated.
