Bollywood superstar Krishna Kumar Kunnath alias KK, who has been the ‘voice of love’ among Indian music lovers for the past three decades, has died after attending a live concert in Kolkata last night.
KK, 53, had been singing for about an hour at a concert in Nasrul Mancha and had fallen ill after arriving at the hotel where he was staying, officials said.
He was rushed to a private hospital in south Kolkata, where doctors pronounced him dead.
A senior hospital official said he was saddened by their inability to treat KK.
An indispensable playback singer in cinema, KK has sung in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi and Bengali and a huge number of these songs have become extremely popular.
