Power and Energy Minister Kanchana Wijesekera says that the fuel price formula will be applied once every two weeks or monthly to chsnge the fuel price.
He said the increase in fuel prices was in line with the price formula approved by the Cabinet, taking into account oil prices and other factors in the world market.
The revision includes fuel import costs, unloading costs, distribution costs and tax costs.
The Minister further stated that dividends have not been included for the price revision.
The government has also decided to call in only the essential employees for the state service in view of fuel costs, the minister said.
