Power and Energy Minister Pavithra Wanniarachchi said that a special operations room will be set up to provide electricity to essential areas such as hospitals, safe havens and investment promotion zones without any cuts.
The Special Operations Room will be set up at the Ministry of Power and Energy premises in Colombo, she said.
Although it is difficult to provide uninterrupted power supply due to the prevailing dry weather conditions, an uninterrupted power supply should be provided for essential services, the Minister said.
The Minister said that the operations room, which is going to made up of representatives of essential institutions, will continue to operate.
