Udaya Gammanpila, Minister of Energy has assured that the fuel required for power generation for a week will continually be provided to the CEB.
It is said that the Minister has informed the Public Utilities Commission about this.
It is reported that a capacity of 150 megawatts has been added to the national grid from the generator which was restored after the Norochcholai power plant malfunctioned.
It is said that Norochcholai, Sapugaskanda Kelanitissa, and as well as a power plant in Colombo are in a state of inactivity due to the fuel crisis.
Due to this the CEB also imposed power cuts in many parts of the country yesterday (01) without informing the public.
Twice yesterday, power outages were reported in many parts of the island.
