The vaccination card has been made mandatory for pilgrims on Sri Pada pilgrimage.
It has been declared as the Sri Pada season from the 18th of December to the 16th of May 2022.
Several other COVID-19 guidelines have been implemented for those wishing to engage in Sri Pada pilgrimage during this season.
Pilgrims should keep a card confirming that they have been vaccinated or a photocopy of it.
Pilgrims are expected to walk around wearing masks, maintain distance, and follow proper health guidelines.
The gazette notification also states that those who come on the Sri Pada pilgrimage should not stay in the Sri Pada compound and shall leave the once worshipped.
