Three suspects were arrested by the Police Special Task Force (STF) at Waripathanchena in Ampara yesterday (21) along with 10 ivories prepared for sale for Rs. 10 million.
According to information received by STF personnel in Kalmunai, the three suspects were apprehended during a raid carried out by STF personnel disguised as buyers near the Waripathanchena Ashraf Memorial Stadium.
The suspects have been handed over to the Ampara Eragama Police Station for further investigations.
The raid was carried out by STF personnel at Kalmunai on the instructions of STF Commander DIG Waruna Jayasundara.
