President Ranil Wickramasinghe has appointed an investigation committee to investigate the actions taken by the authorities regarding the prior information/intelligence received about the bombings that took place on April 21, 2019.
It was presided over by Mrs. ANJ De Alwis, a retired judge.
The actions taken by the State Intelligence Service (SIS), the Chief of National Intelligence (CNI) and other authorities are considered here.
This committee is also going to investigate the actions taken based on the information provided by the Indian intelligence agencies as well as the previous disclosure made by the Directorate of Military Intelligence (DMI) that the LTTE organization was involved in the killings in Vavunathivu.
The report of this committee should be given before September 15.
