As a result of the rapid spread of the corona virus in the country, more than 32 cities have resorted to self-isolation measures, shutting down their businesses and closing their shops.
Businesses in Chilaw, Ampara, Trincomalee, Kegalle, Wennappuwa, Kekirawa, Moneragala, Divulapitiya, Deraniyagala, Orgasmangandiya, Wadduwa, Banduragoda, Rikillaskada and Alawwa, Kodikamam and Padukka will be suspended from tomorrow.
Businesses in Gampaha, Ambalantota, Ambalangoda, Maradagahamula, Veyangoda, Dankotuwa, Serunuwara, Palapathwala, Ulpatha, Tangalle, Badulla, Balangoda, Walapane, Bandarawela, Embilipitiya and Mathale have been suspended for several days due to calls by health experts and public health inspectors to initiate self-isolation measures.
Shops in some areas are closed for a week, in some areas for two weeks, and in some cities for a few days until further notice.
